Internet
Internet subscribers have the advantage of 24/7 access to GSN’s archive of past issues and also receive each issue of GSN emailed in PDF as soon as it is published (23 issues a year). Online resources include a search engine, issue index, pdf download index, plus a reference library - which includes reports from NGOs and multilateral organisations.

Multi-user subscriptions
Multi-user subscriptions are by far the most cost effective way for a corporation/organisation to subscribe to GSN and ensure that all relevant staff have access to GSN’s high quality news and analysis of the Gulf.
GSN can tailor a multi-user package at highly discounted prices. Details of Internet licences and a special academic/NGO subscription may be found below.

Internet licences
A licence provides corporation/organisation-wide access to GSN’s online archives and resources, and each new PDF issue of GSN sent directly to nominated staff email addresses.
The licence also includes access to the following online features:
- Archive search engine
- Issue index – Allows you to view past issues online
- PDF downloads – Every issue dating back to 3 November 1997 (Issue 573)
- Reference Library – Including reports from NGOs and multilateral organisations.
Access
Archive access is granted through corporate/organisation gateway IP addresses and a single user-name and password. This means all staff at the subscribing company or organisation can access GSN’s online resources.
Pricing rationale
We provide Internet licences based on the number of staff who are likely to want access to our archives (rather than total number of staff in a company or organisation).
Price examples:
- Based on 10 users: £1,750.00/$2,885.00 year
Prices are indicative and subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.
For small teams of up to five users, we recommend a standard Internet subscription, with additional sets of log-in details available at £105.00/$175.00 per additional user.

Academic/NGO package
We have created a special subscription package that allows academic institutions and NGOs to subscribe to GSN and receive all the benefits of an Internet licence at a fraction of the cost. The package includes institution-wide archive access, and the PDF version emailed to nominated staff and student email addresses. Price (subject to VAT at the prevailing rate): £755.00/$1,245.00. To apply, please contact Nick Carn on the details below.

Internet licence terms and conditions
- Internet licences for Cross-border Information (CbI – the publisher) publications (namely, African Energy and Gulf States Newsletter) are provided on the understanding of the following terms:
- The minimum term of a licence is 12-months.
- Once ordered a licence is non-refundable.
- The licence covers all internal staff of the licence holder (the company, institution or organisation purchasing the Internet licence from CbI). It does not, however, extend to the staff of sub-contractors or partner companies working with the licence-holder.
- The licence holder has the right to distribute PDFs of the applicable publication to any member of staff within their company or organisation.
- The licence holder has the right to distribute PDFs and resources to any member of staff working within the departments covered by the licence.
- The licence holder and its staff are not allowed to share CbI’s publication resources with individuals, companies, organisations or any other external body without prior written permission from the publisher. Such action will be deemed a breach of copyright and dealt with accordingly.
- Access to CbI publication archives is usually provided through the main IP address(es) of the licence holder and a single-user name and password.
- The licence fee is calculated on the number of anticipated users of a CbI publication’s Internet resources not on total staff numbers of the licence applicant.
- The licence holder is responsible for informing the publisher of any change in IP addresses, email addresses or any other information necessary for the publisher to fulfil the terms of the subscription.
- An Internet subscription is sold on a fair-usage basis – while we encourage people to use and download resources from our archives we do monitor usage and do not permit subscribers to simply copy vast chunks of our archives onto their local intranet. Attempts to do so may result in termination of the subscription(s) in question.
- In order to receive PDF files by email the subscriber must have a minimum of 2 megabytes (Mb) of available mailbox space.
